Kenneth Ray 'Ken' Booe, age 84, Whitehouse, Texas, passed away at 4:02 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2017, in Tyler, Texas, after an illness.
Ken was born January 4, 1933, in Galena, Kan., to the late Rev. Dow Booe and Ruby Pigg Booe and had lived in Joplin with his wife, Pat, from 1956-2009.
He owned and operated Four State Auto Supply from 1972 until 1988 and was an agent with American National Insurance from 1989 until moving to Texas in 2009. Ken was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Korean War.
Ken and Pat would spend every weekend bowling and traveling to Grand Lake. They caught a lot of fish but, he never took one bite. When the kids were young, he enjoyed being outside with them playing kickball, baseball or basketball. In most cases, the entire neighborhood joined in the fun. He also loved the game of golf.
He married Patricia Ann West on September 17, 1955, in Reno, Nev. She survives at the home.
Ken loved Pat with everything he had. They were best friends and were married for 61 years. Ken would always make sure she had the best. Pat was always by his side and together, they spoiled each other rotten.
