M. Francis "Fran" Siebuhr, age 81, Webb City, Mo., passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2017, at his home with family at his side.
Fran was born March 14, 1936, in Osage City, Kan., son of the late Murl L. Siebuhr and Lucienne B. Martin Siebuhr. He graduated from Topeka High School in 1954, and then attended Cameron Junior College on a basketball scholarship where he earned All-American Honors on the National Team. He then played for Central State College in Edmond, Okla., where his team played for the NAIA National Title. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Education at Central, and taught and coached at several high schools including Crescent, Okla., Columbus, Kan., and other schools in Kansas and Missouri. He did this for over twenty years before his retirement. He enjoyed his summers following his grandchildren's activities and working at Schifferdecker Golf Course. He was a member of North Main St. Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, Fran was preceded in death by his children's mother, Elaine Pierce Siebuhr.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Hayes Siebuhr, whom he married December 15, 1990; his sons, Steve Siebuhr, of Wichita, Kan., Scott Siebuhr of Pittsburg, Kan.; step-daughters, Debbie Dame and husband, Joe, of Joplin, Mo., Becky Everitt, of Carl Junction, Mo.; sister, Coreena Barth and husband, Roger, of Topeka, Kan.; grandchildren, Ryan, Lauren, Zack, Nick, and Jake; step-grandchildren, Tiffany, Leslie, Elijah, Colby, and Chris; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Madalyn, Conner, Halleigh, Jillian, Frankie, Kimber, Annabelle, and Carter.
Funeral service will be Thursday, March 30, at 11 a.m. at North Main St. Baptist Church, North Hwy 43 and Gum Road, Carl Junction, with Pastor Walter Hammond officiating. Interment will follow in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery with family serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary, Joplin, on Wednesday from 6 to 7 p.m.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the North Main St. Baptist Church Building Fund, care of Parker Mortuary.
