Patsy M. "Pat" Holden, age 88, formerly of Joplin, Mo., passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2017, in Springfield, Mo.
Pat was born August 7, 1928, in Webb City, Mo., daughter of the late Jack and Valentine Jeter. She has been a lifelong area resident, and worked for Safeway Bakery for many years, and also worked at Mall Double Up Fashions and Hush Puppy Shoe Store. She was a member of Forest Park Baptist Church. Pat was a devoted wife and mother who put the needs of others ahead of her own.
In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her husband, James "Jim" Holden, who died April 16, 2014.
Survivors include her sister, Wanda June Bechhold, of West Monroe, La.; her children, Jim Holden, of Joplin, Kathy Firey and husband, Sam, of Joplin, and Debbie Whitlock and husband, Brad, of Springfield; grandchildren, Michael Holden, of Joplin, and Tamblyn Manley and husband, Bill, of Oklahoma City, Okla.; great-grandchildren, Tori, Logan, and Jade; great-great-grandchildren, Ciera and Bella.
Funeral services will be Friday, April 7, at 2 p.m., in Parker Mortuary Chapel, with Dr. John Swadley officiating. Interment will follow in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery with family serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Friday from 1 p.m. until service time.
The family request that memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association.
