Peter Rene Bodon, age 58, passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2017, finally meeting his one true friend who had eluded him for so long, namely Jesus. What a reunion that must have been!
Peter was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Sonja N. Zbinden and Harold W. Bodon on July 19, 1958.
He attended Memorial High School in Joplin, Mo., where he lettered in tennis, graduating in 1976. After receiving a Regents Scholarship for Outstanding Scholastic Achievement as well as the Commerce Bank Scholarship, he attended Missouri Southern State College, where he graduated in 1981 with a degree in biology, Cum Laude with a minor in chemistry and German. He also did postgraduate work in biology at the University of Missouri in Columbia, Mo.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and graduated from LDS Seminary while in high school.
He is survived by: his parents, Sonja and Harold Bodon; his brother, Mike, and family; his uncle, Karl; and his aunts, Charlotte, Ruth, and Rosie; and his numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces.
A graveside service will be conducted at Ivins City Cemetery on Saturday, February 11, at 1:30 p.m. presided over by Bishop Gene Madsen of the Red Cliffs Second Ward in Ivins.
