Sally Diane Cook, of Riverton, Kan., passed from this life on Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at the age of 62. She was born, in Independence, Kan., to the union of Marilyn (Marr) and Sam Adams.
Sally graduated from Independence High School in 1972. She went on to graduate with a Bachelor's and Master's of Education from Pittsburg State University. Sally taught for the Galena School District for 38 years.
Sally loved working in her flower gardens, watching her hummingbirds, sewing, quilting, and watching the Pitt State Gorillas. Most of all she loved spending time with her two grandchildren, and cat, Tag.
Sally was married for 41 years to Mike Cook, who survives of the home; one daughter, Crystal Taylor and husband, Dewayne; two granddaughters, Alyssa and Paige; mother, Marilyn Adams; two brothers, John Adams and wife Jackie, Steve Adams and wife, Starr; along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
Celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, August 5, at the First Christian Church, Baxter Springs, Kan.
The family ask that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Galena Education Foundation, in her name, or Mirza Transportation Fund, of Pittsburg, Kan.
The family want to say a special 'thank you' to one of Sally's former students, Dr. David Baker, for all of his help in the past months.
