Sandra Anne Howell, age 67, of Raleigh, North Carolina, passed away on June 18, 2017 after a 3-1/2 year fight with cancer.
Sandy was born in Joplin, Missouri on May 28, 1950. She graduated from Joplin High School in 1968. Was an alumni of William Woods College in Fulton Missouri, University of Missouri at Columbia, Forest Park Community College in St. Louis, Missouri. She was also a Chi Omega.
From her first play in 1965 at North Junior High School in Joplin, Missouri, Sandy loved theatre. She moved to to St. Louis, Missouri in 1972 and connected permanently with theatre as a prop master for West End Players and Theatre Project Company. She was forever enthusiastic about her career as a scenic artist and stagehand and enjoyed many of the opportunities provided her after becoming a member of I.A.T.S.E. Local 16 in 1998. Her passion for the arts might have only been surpassed by her love of friends and music. She tirelessly attended Blues, Cajun and Zydeco music events throughout the Bay Area. She was an enthusiastic supporter of Habitat for Humanity.
Sandy moved to Raleigh, North Carolina in 2013, but had certainly left her heart in San Francisco, Oakland, and the rest of the Bay Area.
