William 'Bill' H. James, 77, Joplin, Mo., passed away May 3, 2017 at Galena Nursing Center following an extended illness. He was born May 4, 1939, in Seneca, Mo., the son of Robert and Juanita (Williams) James.
Bill served in the U.S. Army and was a lifelong resident of Seneca, Neosho, Mo. and Joplin. He had worked in maintenance for Kraft Foods, in Neosho, for over 40 years and CFI for 5 years.
He is survived by three children, Sheila Clouse, of Granby, Brian James and wife, Crystal, of Gentry, Ark., and Stephen James, of Neosho; companion, Rose Carlile, of Joplin, and her two children, Christi Hartman and husband, Jim, of Fayetteville, N.C. and Shelly Hartman. of Los Angeles, Calif.; brother, Robert James, of Joplin; two sisters, Carolyn Casey, of Neosho, and Donna Ogle, of Lebanon, Mom; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bill is preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter; brother, Jerry James; and sister, Betty Tucker.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 6, at 1 p.m. at Ozark Memorial Cemetery, in Joplin. Mr. James will lie in state on Friday afternoon from 12 to 5 p.m. at Clark Funeral Home, in Neosho.
