Benjamin Russell Markley Jr, 95, Joplin, MO, went home to Heaven Sunday, August 4, 2019.
Ben was saved at age 12 and began teaching Sunday school at 16. He had a lifelong commitment of serving the Lord through teaching and preaching in over 100 churches and as county director for Child Evangelism Fellowship. He retired from Joplin Supply Company.
He was predeceased by parents, Benjamin and Anna (Lamb) Markley; brothers, John and Ray; sister, Mary White; and beloved wife, Vivian.
Surviving children are Nancy (Harold) Lyon, Lincoln, NE, Ben (Becky) Markley, Perris, CA, Susan (Stan) Myers, Kansas City, KS, Dan (Patty) Markley, Joplin, MO; 19 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 13, from 5-7 p.m., with funeral service on Wednesday, August 14, at 11 a.m., Thornhill-Dillon Funeral Home, 602 S. Byers, Joplin MO. Burial at Osborne Cemetery, Joplin, following service. Pastor Ben Markley officiating.
Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of the Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary Joplin.

Our heartfelt condolences to the family. Ben and Vivian were such positive influences on our family. We were once neighbors in Joplin. He was a wonderful caring soul. We know he rests in the arms of Jesus. God bless your family.
