Betty Jo Rountree
Betty Jo Rountree, a longtime resident of Joplin, MO, passed away November 2, 2019 after a brief illness.
Betty was born July 1, 1932, in Dade County, MO, and graduated from Greenfield High School in 1950.
She lived and worked in Joplin from 1971 until the time of her passing.
Betty is survived by daughter, Belinda Whitehead, of Lee's Summit, MO; granddaughter, Kalinda (Rountree) Brown, of Joplin; grandson, Christopher Whitehead, of Kansas City, MO; and three great-grandsons, Knox, Trace, and Brooks Brown; as well as two sisters, Mary Helen Gilmore, of Springfield, MO, Cora Jennings, of Carthage, MO; and a brother, Howard Franklin, of Raytown, Mo. Betty was preceded in death by a son, Richard Rountree; grandson, Clayton Rountree; and three brothers, William Franklin, J.B. Franklin, and Charles Franklin
Private family services are planned.

I worked with Betty at Commerce Bank many years ago. I remember her as so kind and caring. She loved all the employees and did special things for each of us to make our work home loving and enjoyable.
