Charles Edwin Trease (Eddie)
October 12, 1945 - May 6, 2025
Charles Edwin "Eddie" Trease, age 79, passed from this world at his home in Aurora, Missouri, on May 6 2025, starting on his next journey, with his family by his side. Survived by his wife of 59 years Charolette "Charlie'" Baker Trease, and twin daughters, Shawna Slagle of Carthage, Missouri, and Tracy Mauk and husband Craig of Cleveland, Missouri. Also surviving are 2 grandsons Chance Mauk and Dalton Slagle, and 4 granddaughters, Pam Slagle Gaither, Julia Oney, Lindsey Mauk, and Elizabeth Slagle. Sister Nancy Stripling and partner Sandy Cohagen, Springfield, Missouri, and brother, Stan Trease, Joplin, Missouri. Preceding him in death were his parents Victor Wellington Trease and Mary Grace McCullough Trease. Ed loved his family, paying special attention to his grandchildren. They always knew a trip to his house meant something new and fun. He shared his love of golf with his grandsons and his love of nature with his granddaughters. Ed started working for the Joplin Globe at the age of 17 operating the switchboard. He worked in composing and sales. He also worked for Steve Spicer Motors and Roper Pontiac all in Joplin, Missouri. He started a weekly newspaper, Shopper's Advantage. His passion was yard sales and auctions where he found treasures to sell in his many flea market booths throughout the 4-state area. After retiring he and his wife moved to their little piece of heaven at Table Rock Lake, Mano, Missouri, enjoying 12 wonderful years. Donations can be made to St. Jude's or Southside Baptist, Aurora, Missouri. The family will hold a private service at a later date.

Plant a tree: How does it work
When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.
An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.
After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.
Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.

Orders placed in:
January - May
Planting will take place in Spring or Summer of the same year.
June - December
Planting will take place in Spring of the following year.
