Lancaster, PA - After a long hard fight Cheryl Kay Ritchie passed away on October 27, 2025. Cheryl was born July 28,1950, to James R. McGeary and Betty J. McGeary (Stratton). She attended the Riverton, KS. school district. Cheryl married Sparks E. Ritchie on September 23, 1983. Together they raised four sons: David Bond (Dee); James Bond; Jarron Ritchie (Jennifer); Dalton Ritchie.

For years Cheryl worked in the grocery business, starting at Dale's IGA in Galena, KS, Anderson's in Baxter Springs, KS, and Cadwell's in Carl Junction, MO. She left the grocery business to work in the Carl Junction school cafeteria and then later in the Lampeter Strasburg, PA schools. Cheryl was also a 50-year member of the Amy Chapter Eastern Star.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, 1 sister, 2 nephews, and a brother-in-law. Cheryl's life always centered around family and friends.

Cheryl left behind a husband, Sparks, two sisters, Judy McGaugh and Vickie Gibbins, and a brother-in-law, Dan Wooten. Her loving family left behind includes 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and 1 living Aunt, Wilma McGeary and her 4 sons.

Cheryl and Sparks spent several years living, working and traveling in Asia with a home base in Taiwan. Cheryl loved to travel. The more places she visited, the more places she wanted to go.

Cheryl loved gardening. It was her favorite pastime and joy. Carefully nurturing a garden of bright colors and pleasant smells to enjoy while the family lounged and played around the pool. In lieu of flowers or donations, please plant a flower for your own enjoyment in memory.
