Joplin, Missouri - David Allen Shaffer, 83, of Joplin, MO passed away on Oct. 26,2025 after a year in hospice at home with caretakers. He was born Sept. 26, 1942 to Harold and Dorothy Shaffer, in Martinez, CA.
He met his wife Leta while stationed in the Air Force in Topeka, KS with her brother J.W. Klotz. They were married almost 60 years.
He is survived by his wife and a brother, James Shaffer, of Concord, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, William Shaffer, of Carson City, NV.
His funeral was held in Oak Grove, MO and his military stone will be placed at Mount Hope Cemetery.
