Carl Junction, MO - Jesus called Della Verbryck home on March 21, 2025, at the age of 89. She was born on April 2, 1935, in Joplin, MO to the late Harry and Sylvia (Rawlins) Doss. Her soulmate was Carey. Della's greatest achievement was to share Jesus with Bible Classes. Teaching 8th graders was one of the best of times because she loved them, and she prayed for each class as they entered her classroom. Della accepted Jesus as her personal savior at the age of 9. Since that time, she sang in choirs, helped and taught Vacation Bible School, taught teenagers, and led an adult Bible class. She always said her students taught her more than she taught them. Her experience in high school and college molded her abilities. Getting family together around the dining room table for a meal brought her peace and happiness. Della loved decorating the Christmas tree and all the things one does at Christmas, Thanksgiving and Easter. As the years went by, one of the happiest times was getting together with the "Five Domino Ladies" once a month. She loved to teach, cook, camp out, travel, ski, fish, swim, hunt, and read and study God's Holy Bible because it was a light under her feet as she walked through her journey here on earth.

In high school, she enjoyed being in plays, cheerleading, drum corps, football queen, and President of the Future Homemakers. After high school, she received her master's degree in education and taught at Carl Junction School District for 25 years. She received the Outstanding Teacher Award in 1978 and was a proud member of the Missouri Teachers Association and National Educator Association. She married the love of her life, Carey Verbryck, on July 25, 1953, in Carl Junction, Missouri.

Della is survived by her husband, Carey Verbryck; children, Carey Paul Verbryck (Kristy) and Hobey Verbryck; 5 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 5 extended great- grandchildren, siblings, Henry Doss (Kim), Harry Doss, Stanley Doss (Betsy), Bonnie Stever and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Along with her parents, Della is preceded in death by her brothers, Delana Doss, Delmar Doss, Ted Doss, Aunt Donna Doss, and Joe Stever.

Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at Rooted Church in Carl Junction, MO. followed by a funeral service. Burial to follow at Carl Junction Cemetery.

Services are under the direct care of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, MO.
