Delmar  Pugh
Delmar Dale Pugh passed from this life Wednesday, April 17, 2019, in Overland Park, KS. He was 89. He was born October 1, 1929 to Eslie and Viola (Williams) Pugh.
He served in the U.S. Navy for four years, from 1950 to 1954, during the Korean War on three aircraft carriers, The Antietam, The Shangra-La and the Yorktown.
Delmar had worked for BF Goodrich, in Miami, OK, for 29 years, he retired when the plant closed in 1986. He began working again at Oklahoma Leather, in Miami, where he worked for five years.
Delmar was a member of the Southern Hill Baptist Church, in Miami, where he served as a deacon and brotherhood director. He was also a member of the V.F.W. and American Legion in Miami. He was currently attending Long Branch Baptist Church, in Galatia, IL.
Delmar loved to hunt and fish, attend church and worship God and loved the St. Louis Cardinals.
Delmar married Mary Louise (Harry) Pugh July 20, 1956. She preceded him in death May 21, 2017.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; his son, Charles Pugh; and grandson, Danny Pugh.
Survivors include his son, Bradley Keith Pugh and wife, Kristy, of Broughton, IL; his daughter, Julie Louise Mustain and husband, Rex, of Overland Park, KS; his brother, Cleo Pugh, of Missouri; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, April 22, at the Southern Hills Baptist Church, in Miami. Mike Lillie and Rev. Herb Young will officiate. Interment will be in Nashville Cemetery, in Barton County, MO. Military rites will be conducted by Navy Honor Guard and Jasper V.F.W. Post # 6415. Rex Mustain, Ryan Mustain, Chris Pugh, Mike Lillie, Hunter Walton and Clayton Pugh will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Southern Hill Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday prior to the service at the Southern Hills Baptist Church, in Miami.
Services have been placed in the care of the Paul Thomas Funeral Home and Cremation Service, of Miami.
