Edith P. (Moore) Seward was at home and surrounded by her family when she passed to be with the Lord, Saturday, January 15, 2022. She was born June 8, 1928. Her parents were William R. Moore and Nettie (Pennington) Moore, both deceased. She graduated from Mt Vernon High School in 1946.

Edith married Rex Seward June 26, 1946. They owned and operated Rex Transfer and Storage, Agents for North American Van Lines in both Webb City and Carthage, Missouri. They retired in 1991. Their 65-year marriage ended with his death.

Edith's faith was very important to her and she loved the Lord and to serve Him. She enjoyed singing and would often rejoice in song.

She leaves behind a son, Jerry Seward and a daughter, Linda Corner, both of Webb City, Missouri; two daughters-in-law, Debby Mitchell, and Marina Seward; 11 grandchildren, Ramona Spruce, Michael Woods, Chad (Dana) Perry, Kari Ann (Stephen) Kostlan, Paul (Sara) Perry, Robert (Laci) Seward, Shelley (Danny) Ward, Bridgette (Andrew) McReynolds, Amanda (Brandon) Morris, Hannah (Zach) Palmer, Amy Ogden; 26 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Edith was preceded in death by her spouse, two sons, Ronald R. Seward and David W. Seward; daughter, Carolyn Woods; grandson, Kevin A. Woods Sr.; and all of her siblings.

A visitation, under the direction of the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 21, 2022, at the Forest Park Baptist Chapel in Joplin, Missouri, with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will immediately follow at the Mt. Vernon I00F Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made payable to the William's Cemetery in Mt. Vernon, in care of the funeral home.
