Carthage, MO - Frederick John Masic, 78, went to run with Jesus on July 11, 2025. He was born on September 5, 1946, in Altoona, PA, to the late Joseph and Emma Masic.

Fred grew up in Altoona, PA with seven siblings. He graduated from the University of La Verne with a B.A. in Business Administration. He was a quality inspector for Underwriters Laboratories for twenty-four years. Fred served four years in the US Navy, meeting his wife while stationed in Long Beach, CA. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Masic, his son, Frederick Masic II, his daughter Marla Batten, his grandchildren, Lisa, Jessica, Brandon, Kindall, and Lyndsey, along with his five great-grandchildren. He's also survived by his sisters Dorothy, Mary, and June, and his brothers David and Joe.

Fred's celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Faith Lutheran Church of Carthage, located at 2134 Grand Ave, Carthage, MO 64836. The service will begin at 11am. Fred was a true disciple, always willing to lend a hand to those in need. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations to their church at Faith Lutheran Church of Carthage.
