Galen D. Cartright
Sgt. Galen D. Cartright Ret., 76, passed away peacefully in his home in Enterprise, Oklahoma on Sunday Dec. 1, 2019.
Galen was preceded in death by his mother Leora (Whitworth) Cartright, his father, Harold LeRoy Cartright; and his oldest brother Robert and younger brother Ronnie.
Galen spent his entire life believing in and serving God, his country, and his family. A highly decorated Vietnam veteran who was truly loved, respected, and honored by his commanding officers and fellow soldiers. Galen returned to civilian jobs on the B&NSF; Railroad where he was employed as a Footboard Yard Master until retirement.
Galen and his wife Teri enjoyed humor and laughter and love. They planned their wedding on April Fools' Day 1981, telling wedding guests to be at one location while they were married in another location, joining their friends for a reception and laughter at their wedding prank. They combined their children into one big, happy and fun family. Their love of people abounded as they fostered many young people in need of a loving home. Galen's love of animals knew no bounds. He and his wife, Teri, loved to care for animals in need. Their home was always full of love and rescued or injured animals and birds.

Gary and family, I' am sorry for your loss. While it's been many years, I have some pretty good memories of all of you. When we still lived in Joplin, I would see you at church, but could never get a chance to talk to you. We live in Killeen, TX now. Once again, I am sorry for your loss. But we will all see your entire family one day, and be with them forever.
God Bless You All
