Joplin, MO - Our beloved husband, dad, grandpa, and Pops, Gerald Warren Miller, known to all who loved him as Jerry, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2025, in Joplin, Missouri, at the age of 81.
Jerry was born on May 28, 1944, in Topeka, Kansas. He lived a life grounded in faith, hard work, and deep devotion to his family. To us, he was a steady and reassuring presence—quietly strong, dependable, and guided by his trust in the Lord. His life reflected humility, perseverance, and a genuine care for others.
Dad dedicated 44 years of his working life to Schreiber Foods in Carthage, Missouri. He took great pride in his work and was known for his loyalty, integrity, and strong work ethic. After retiring, he enjoyed 15 years of retirement, slowing down and truly savoring the simple pleasures of life.
He shared 62 beautiful years of marriage with our mom, Rose Miller. Their marriage was built on love, faith, and commitment, and together they created a home filled with devotion and care for family. He was a devoted father to Mark and Lorrie, and a proud grandfather to Lainey, Lindsey, Rylee, Sidney, Christa, and Reagan, each of whom brought him immeasurable joy. In recent months, Jerry found great joy in knowing he would soon become a great-grandfather, eagerly anticipating the arrival of his first great-grandson expected in March.
Some of Dad's happiest moments were spent with family. He loved hunting and fishing with friends and especially with his son, Mark. He enjoyed restoring vintage cars, walking in nature, and soaking in beautiful sunny days. He found great contentment in the quiet moments—sitting on the porch with a cup of coffee, alongside our mom and dear friends. Dad had a witty sense of humor and a special way of making people laugh and feel comfortable.
A faithful man, Jerry was a longtime member of College Heights Christian Church. His faith in Jesus Christ guided the way he lived and loved, and it sustained him through every season of life. He sought to reflect Christ through kindness, patience, and quiet strength.
While our hearts grieve his loss, we are deeply grateful for the life he lived and the love he gave so freely. We take comfort in knowing he is at peace and reunited with his Savior. Dad's legacy of faith, love, and quiet strength will live on in all of us.
