Grove, Oklahoma - Gladys Mae Crowder, age 97, went to our Lord and Savior peacefully on Sunday, June 5th, 2022, at her home in Grove, Oklahoma. Gladys was born September 26, 1924, at her home near Seneca, Missouri, to her mother, Eliza Leader Kellogg and father, Elmer Kellogg. She married Boyd Crowder on April 27th, 1946, in Columbus, Kansas.

One of Gladys's favorite pastimes included always tending to her chickens. She also loved her church, The First Christian Church of Grove, Oklahoma, where she maintained a perfect attendance at Sunday School for close to 40 years. Gladys enjoyed making rag rugs, one of which is on display at Har Ber Village. Her favorite hobby was always fishing. She could usually be found on her farm sitting in a lawn chair around one of the ponds with several lines cast out. There was always competition though. She was always accompanied by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and even great-great-grandchildren who raced around getting to reel-in the first bite.

Gladys was greeted in heaven by her father, mother, 11 other brothers and sisters, her husband Boyd Crowder, who passed away unexpectedly in 1990 after 44 years of marriage. She was also greeted by her son, Roy Crowder, and grandchildren, Jared and Russell Crowder.

Gladys Mae Crowder is survived by her sister, June Roberts. She also leaves a legacy of four generations beginning with her son, Kenneth Crowder. Grandchildren: Darin Crowder, Stoney Crowder, Lance Crowder, Cindy Clifford and her husband Sean Clifford, and Dustin Crowder and his wife Melaine Crowder, 14 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, and a countless number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm, Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel. Services are scheduled for 2 pm, Thursday, June 9, 2022, at First Christian Church in Grove, Oklahoma. Gladys will be laid to rest in Olympus Cemetery.
