Gregory Charles Koehler
Dr. Gregory Charles Koehler, 57 passed away on October 15, 2019, in St. Louis Mo. after a 2 year battle with pancreatic cancer.
Gregory was born in Joplin, Mo. on September 16, 1962 to Charles and LeeAnne (Capelli) Koehler, Joplin, Mo.
Gregory is survived by his son, Joshua Koehler, also from Joplin, Mo. Other survivors include his sister, Gretchen (Koehler) Biscan, brother-in-law, David Biscan, nieces and their spouses Anna and Aaron Lang, Emily and Jason Striegel, niece, Abigail Biscan, nephew, Andrew Biscan, and great niece, Avery Lang. He was supported through his illness by his aunts, uncles, cousins and many close friends and colleagues.
Gregory attended Memorial High School and graduated in 1980. He received a Bachelor's Degree from Missouri Southern State College in 1984. He continued his education at North Texas University, Denton, Texas where he received his Masters and Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology.
After completing his education, Gregory worked as a Hospital Director at Mercy, Joplin and private practice at College Skyline. He later acquired a position as a staff member at Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire. He went on to relocated back to Joplin, Mo. where he worked at Mercy Behavioral Health in Springfield, Mo. as a Clinical Psychologist.
Services will be held Saturday, Oct. 26th, St. Peter's Catholic Church. There will be a visitation at 10:00 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Research, 415 Crossways Park Drive, Suite D, Woodbury, New York 11797 or www.Lustgarten.org.
