Kim LeRoy Hock
Kim "Lee" LeRoy Hock went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 10, 2019.
When I started writing my Dad's obituary, I began stating how he was born in Wichita, moved to Littleton, Colorado, and was adopted by his step-father, Marion Hock. But that is not what was lost on September 10.
Lee Hock was a cowboy who rode bulls and he raised horses on the great ranches of Audie Murphey and Claude Akins. He was a boxer, a quarterback and a tight end. He picked guitar and was an 82nd Airborne Army Paratrooper. He was a pool player who won many trophies with the APA and Bush Pool leagues. He was a father who loved his kids more than anything (except maybe his grandkids), and an all-around hero to his young daughters and grandchildren.
Dad loved fishing, animals, football, cowboying, steak, a good buffet, cigarettes, westerns, music, beautiful women, dancing, children, babies and God. He was impish, ornery and stubborn. He loved jokes and a good prank (as long as it wasn't pulled on him), would get all kinds of grumbly and stick to his decisions no matter what, good or bad. He was a hard man who made sure his kids were strong, tough and taught us how to take care of ourselves. He was a soft man who would care for us while we were sick with love, forehead kisses and gentle caresses. He is a man who it is incredibly hard to say goodbye to and will be dearly missed.
Kim "Lee" LeRoy Hock is preceded in death by his mother, Edna Mae Helen Hock; his father, Marion Hock; and his brother, Lonnie Dean Hock.
He is survived by his daughters, Debora Lewis and husband, Donald Lewis, of Pueblo. Colorado, Tonya Stanfield, and husband, Steve Stanfield, of Belton, and Kelly Hock, of Webb City; grandchildren, Jacob Hock, Sheynacy Hock, Cailin Miller and Gabriel Hock; and great-grandsons, Kimber Rylan Hock, Bruin Michael Hock and Steven James Curran.
Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2019, at Parker Mortuary in Joplin, Missouri.
Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
