Margaret Barlet
Margaret "Marty" Ann Barlet, 81, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at Joplin Gardens. Marty was born September 20, 1937, in Columbus, KS, to Ralph Leland and Verna "Dopp" Stark. She was a long-time resident of Southwest Missouri.
In her early years, while raising her family, Marty was active in the Southwest Missouri Dental Auxiliary. She co-wrote and produced dental health education programs for elementary age children in Jasper and Newton Counties. She was also active in Women's Aglow and led many Bible studies.
After raising her family, Marty went to college and, in her late 40s, received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Missouri Southern State College. During her under graduate work, she did extensive research on bison at Prairie State Park. After attending Eastern Kentucky University, where she received her Master's Degree in Psychology, she practiced at Bluegrass Counseling Service, in Lexington and Georgetown, KY, specializing in children and families. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, which was her sole reason for retirement.

Barlet (Melissa), of Monterey, CA; two daughters, Dr. Elizabeth Barlet Bauer (Don), of Joplin, and Susan Barlet Flowers (Jeff), of Joplin; two brothers, Glenn Stark (Linda), of Riverton, KS, and Gerald G.
