Galena, KS: Mary Louise (Jones) Schwartz, age 86, passed away on January 13, 2025.

Mary was born on June 21, 1938 in Joplin, MO to Joseph F. Jones and Mary B. (Gouvion) Jones. She graduated from St. Mary's Catholic School in Joplin, MO. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church of Galena as well as the Alter Society (President and Treasurer), the Galena Lion's Club (Secretary), and the Jaycee Janes.

She was united in marriage with Charles Ernest "Corky" Schwartz on the 29th of December in 1956.Together, they owned and operated Schwartz Drug in Galena until they closed the store in December 1979. He preceded her in death on April 12, 2021.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mary Jones; one son, David Schwartz; and one grandson, Ronald "Ronnie"; and one great-grandson Zachary Merando; one sister, Jean Ann Convoy; three brothers, James Jones, Bill Jones, and John Jones.

Survivors include one daughter, Angela Price (husband, Arthur); two sons, Bob Schwartz, and Mike Schwartz (wife, Mary K.); four grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, five step-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Velma Carson.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery in Webb City, MO. Father Jeremy Huser will officiate.

Rosary will take place at 6:30 on Friday, January 17, 2025 at Derfelt Funeral Home of Galena with Father Chris Martin leading, followed by visitation from 7-8:00 PM.
