Paul Wylie Lewis, 93, of Anderson, Missouri, departed this life on Friday, April 7, 2023, at his residence. He entered this life on October 9, 1929 in Defiance, Ohio, born to the late, Paul Wilbur and Katherine Alice (Wylie) Lewis. He was baptized by his grandfather, Dr. William H. Wylie.
Paul earned his BS in Business from the Indiana University in 1951; he then joined the United States Air Force and served in the Korean war. He worked with his father at the INDO Poster Advertising Company. He was very active in his community in Marion, Indiana; he was a member of the Toastmasters, Kiwanis Club, Jaycees; Lion Club and was a 50-year Mason. Paul opened the Hoosier Reproduction Company and is still in operation today. He earned his MBA in Business from the Southern Illinois University in 1975. He was then called into active duty with the United States Air Force during the Cuban Crisis and served in the Vietnam War. Paul was a highly decorated veteran retiring in 1979 after serving our country for 28 years. He retired as Major Paul Lewis and received several awards to include two Bronze Stars. Paul worked for the Don Ray Outdoor advertising in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma for 8 years; moved to McDonald County in 1987. He owned and operated The Flower Shop in Anderson, Missouri; sold advertising products and served as the municipal Judge in Lanagan, Missouri. Paul married the love of his life, Nancy Charles Fisher on December 13, 1997. He was a faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church in Bentonville, Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife and closest companion, Nancy Charles Lewis on December 20, 2012; a son, John Paul Lewis and a sister, Linda Wilkinson.
Paul is survived by his son, Philip Alan Lewis and wife, Nancy of Rogers, Arkansas; two grandchildren, Jeffrey Lewis of Mountain Home, Arkansas, and Cari Lewis of Dallas, Texas; caregiver, Bertha Haddock of Anderson, Missouri; as well as a host of other family and friends who will dearly miss Paul.
Memorial services for Paul will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 17, 2023 at the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Home. Burial will be held at a later date in the Historic Estate of Serenity Cemetery in Marion, Indiana.
Memorial contributions in loving memory of Paul may be given to the First Presbyterian Church in Bentonville, Arkansas, or the McDonald County Historical Society in care of the funeral home.
Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of the Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Missouri.
