Pedro Garcia Santana
Pedro "Pete" Garcia Santana, age 64, of Joplin Missouri, passed away Sunday September 8, 2019 after a short illness, with his family by his side.
Pete was born on May 13, 1955 in Corpus Christi, Texas, to late Gregorio Santana and Juanita "Janie" (Garcia). He moved to Joplin in 1978.
He was a welder for Lozier Corp., for 15 years.
During his time he learned to country-western dance and later became an area dance instructor. He followed this passion for dancing until his passing.
Pete loved to ride horses and followed bull riding. His love for the western cowboy, showed by the wardrobe he would wear. He was never without a cowboy hat or boots.
He was a true father, friend, and a cowboy.
Survivors include his mother, Janie Santana, of Corpus Christi,Texas; his daughter, Melissa Ramirez and husband, Juan, of Catoosa, Oklahoma; his son, Joshua Santana and wife, Kayla, of Carterville, Missouri; five grandchildren, Kimberly Myers, Karly Dorland, Kara Shanks, Kody Santana and Kelsi Santana; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters and two brothers; as well as a host of other family and friends who will dearly miss Pete, ("Poppie" to his grandchildren.)
There will be a celebration of life held at the Mining Day building in Webb City, Missouri, on September 29, 2019 from 3-6 p.m. The address is 703 Dawson Dr., Webb City, MO.
