Ray Harris passed away in the comfort of his home on September 24, 2024, at the age of 85. He was born in Wheaton, MO, on October 14, 1938, to Amza and Lovena Harris (Bradley). He was born into a strong line of farming and raising cattle which became his lifelong passion. After meeting the love of his life, Shirley Harris (Carney), they built a homestead on the land that he loved and grew up on.
He is survived by his children, Scott Harris of Stark City, Kitty Harris of Stark City, Brenda Woods of Neosho, Danny and Becky Woods of Republic, several grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother Clovis Harris, his parents Amza and Lovena Harris, wife Shirley Harris, grandson Kit Spencer, sisters Wanda Dickens and Willadean Allen, and brother Harold Harris.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for 61 years, 41 years with the Scottish Rite. He was also a member of Easter Star with his wife, Shirley. He served as a medic at Ft. Hood Army Base from 1961 to 1963.
The visitation will be from 2:00-4:00 pm on Sunday, September 29, 2024, at Clark Funeral Home in Granby, MO. The funeral service will be at 10:00 am Monday, September 30th, 2024, at Clark Funeral Home in Granby, MO, followed by graveside services at Dice Cemetery in Fairview, MO.
