Joplin, MO - Richard Clark Squires, Sr. was born on September 21, 1942, in Mercedes, Texas, to Rosemary Squires, née Snadon, and Elmer Squires, and passed away on September 30, 2025, in Joplin, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Victor A. Squires.

He served for 26 years in the U.S. Army with deployments in Vietnam and the Gulf War. For 32 years until his death, he and his second wife, Tammy Squires, owned and operated Security Pawn in Webb City, Missouri.

Richard is survived by his wife of 34 years, Tammy Squires of Joplin, Missouri. From his first marriage, he leaves three children, Dr. Constance Squires and Brian Johnston of Edmond, Oklahoma, Richard Squires, Jr. of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Amanda Squires of Pennsboro, Missouri. He is also survived by three stepchildren, David and Pam Mar, Tracy and John Clagg and Dwayne and Christine Marr. He had six grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

A military funeral with full honors will take place at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery on October 22, 2025, at 2:00, and a memorial will be held at the Pennsboro Church, Dade County, Missouri on Saturday, November 1st, 2025, at 2:00.
