Joplin, Missouri - Richard D Whitehead passed away suddenly at Mercy Hospital on June 29, 2025 surrounded by his family.
Richard was born on June 22, 1946, in Joplin and was a lifelong resident. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Alice, and his children: Tracy Whitehead (David Pruitt), Dawn (Mark) Smith, Heather (Kenny) Snow and Jeff (Brandi) Whitehead.
He is also survived by his grandchildren: Abbey Whitehead (Jake Snyder), Nick Whitehead, Alexis (Braeden) Sanders, Emily Whitehead (Aaron Finley), Zachary, Austin, and Logan Whitehead; and his great-grandchildren: Matthew Snyder, Eden Finley and Brecken Sanders.
Richard was a good man- but an even better husband, father and grandpa. He will be greatly missed.
Cremation under Ozark Memorial Park and private services per his wishes.
