Wayne Hartin
Venton Wayne Hartin of Baxter Springs, Kansas, passed from this life on June 7, 2019 in Joplin, Missouri, he was 65.
Wayne was born on June 29, 1953 in Aurora, Missouri, to Clinton and Goldie (Jenkins) Hartin. He was a part of the class of 1971 from Parkwood High School in Joplin, Missouri. Wayne received his associate's degree from Labette Community College in Parsons, Kansas.
Wayne was a member of the Army National Guard from 1973-1978. He worked for Empire District Electric Company for 43 years retiring in December of 2017 as Senior Field Safety Coordinator.
Wayne married Shelley Burrows in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, in 1998 and were married for 21 wonderful blessed years. He was of the Assembly of God faith.
Wayne loved to work and play on the farm with his kids and grandkids. He enjoyed time with family and friends. He loved and adored his wife's side of the family, the Burrows and Niday.
Wayne is survived by his mother, his wife, and four children, Kirk and Krystia Hartin of Webb City, Missouri, Megan Briggs of Galena, Kansas, Kelly and Nikki Hartin of Baxter Springs, Kansas, and Taylor Messbarger of Baxter Springs, Kansas. He is also survived by two sisters, Carolyn Moser of Joplin, Missouri, and Janice Orem of Hockessin, Delaware. Wayne also has five grandchildren, Kailyn Hartin, Kamryn Hartin, Kaiden Briggs, Taylor Hartin and Kiah Hartin. He is also survived by nieces and nephews whom he loved. Wayne is preceded in death by his father.
Memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday June 13, 2019 at Pleasant View Cemetery. Pastor Rod Scherencel will officiate.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Adventist Frontier Missions in Wayne's Memory.
