William Edward "Eddie" Owens, 59, a longtime Tulsa resident passed away at Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa on Saturday, February 17, 2024, surrounded by his family. Mr. Owens was born on July 25, 1964, in Miami, Oklahoma, to William Olin and Sarah (Rhodes) Owens. Eddie graduated from Miami High School with the Class of 1982, he then attained his associate degree from NEO A&M College, before receiving his bachelor's degree from Oklahoma State University. He worked in marketing all his adult life. He was able to be active in many industries throughout his career. He worked with BOK, Williams Company as well as many other companies throughout his career. Eddie had a heart of gold; he worked at a lot of charity events including Joplin Tornado Relief. He was also an animal lover to an extreme, all his animals were rescues. Eddie loved the outdoors, whether he was making something beautiful from found or recycled items or working on his lawn or plants around his house. He was a good friend to his neighbors and never met a stranger. Eddie was preceded in passing by his father William Owens.

Survivors include his mother Sarah Owens of Miami, his brother Anthony "Tony" Owens of Joplin, Missouri and of course his rescue dog Annie.

The family will have a Private Family Celebration at a later date. Cremation Services have been placed in the care of Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Miami.

The family has asked that memorial contributions be made in Eddie's name to Mount Olive Lutheran Church, 2337 N Main Street, Miami, OK 74354 or the charity of their choice.
